This cute little boy stole my heart from the first time I saw him. I blame it on his beautiful blue eyes.

This was at the bottom of the stairs…and the beginning to the crawl allll theee wayyyy uppp. Kids amaze me.

I currently had someone ask me about three month sessions- how I photograph them and to see some images. The most important thing I mentioned to them is that I want to candidly (take note of this word) capture their baby at that age. At three months old, I want to capture what the baby is doing, what they love, where they are comfortable, how they interact, etc. etc. etc. I don’t want to force your child to sit up for pictures when they just aren’t there yet. I don’t want to take their pacifiers away for a “better shot”; they LOVE them. More than anything, I ALWAYS keep in mind that any image, especially those of babies, are to show off who they are during that time period. One that will be gone oh so quickly.

I bring this up partly because I want you to understand, before contacting me, how I shoot and why I do it. I also bring it up in this particular post because this session reflects exactly what a three month session is supposed to be. Without further ado, I present to you the grown and already-way-to-big-for-me-to-keep-up…Alice & Bess.

We started with an attempted tummy time. Bess…

…and Alice (who seemed to be very excited about tummy time that particular day).

R&R came just a few minutes into tummy time. Such a hard life.

After resting, we took the girls into their nursery with the beautiful light. (Alice thinks her mom is hilarious!!!)

I recently found out that their dad plays guitar-and is pretty awesome at it according to his wife (you’re welcome for those brownie points you just got, Lindsey!) So in go the babes for these two way cute shots…

The girls were getting a little tired from modeling (hence the pacifiers in the last shot) so we wrapped things up pretty quickly…

Hope this, not only made you smile but also, gave you a quick glimpse into what a three month session might look like for your baby.

Just a quick sneak of this morning’s session. Lindsey mentioned to me that she wanted more pictures of her with her sweet girls since their time being tiny is going by so fast. As it was one of my main focuses today, I’m in love with these two images. The grain in these black and whites is just gorgeous.

As if Grammarcy isn’t a great enough place to work, I can’t imagine working this summer without this girl. I was so thrilled when she asked me to take her senior pictures. I mean, come on, who wouldn’t be excited when she’s this beautiful? We had so much fun running around Columbus for these images, and I absolutely love how they turned out.

Morgan- Thank you for braving rocks, extreme heat, and the possiblity of snakes to get these shots! Hope you love them as much as I do!
Mrs. Donna & Chelsea- THANK YOU for coming along and being such great help! I don’t know what I would have done with the water bottles and in-between-shooting air conditioning!

A fave.

Morgan’s dad used to be a firefighter so we made our way over to the firestation for a few shots. That lasted about 3 minutes until the alarm went off. If you had been there, you would have seen four girls very afraid that they were about to get hit by a firetruck…okay, so I was probably the only one thinking that.

Towards the end of the session, we made our way to one of my favorite fields to shoot in.

I have GOT to purchase a pair of cowgirl boots. I’m very behind when it comes to trends.

Just another image of Alice & Bess that I never posted. These were used for the birth announcement so I had to keep it super secret until those went out. And even though Lindsey was on top of it and sent them out more than a month ago, I’m just now getting around to this. Such a gorgeous picture of the girls.

When Emily contacted me to shoot a session with her and her husband of two years, Dooner, I was over-the-top excited. Little did I know, these two were naturals in front of the camera. Cue further ridiculous excitement. This is by far one of my favorite sessions to date and one that expresses my shooting style perfectly. Emily & Dooner- THANK YOU for being so relaxed and having fun together in front of the camera. You are the greatest example of what a true Just Because or Engagement Session should be!

They laugh together. A lot. And I like that.

Shooting from this high always seems to be a hit or miss. This one? Total hit.

30. Find/Buy a Polaroid camera

My mother-in-law sent this to me a few months ago when she found out I had been dying to have one. Now I must find the right film, hope it’s not outrageously priced, and then pray that the camera actually works once the film is in. Maybe? If not, it’s a nice collector’s item.
